My client based in Leatherhead, Surrey have an exciting opportunity for a ServiceNow Developer for an initial 6 month contract with the potential for further extensions. This is a hybrid role and you will be required to work from their headquarters based in Leatherhead, Surrey 2 days per week.

You will need to be an experienced ServiceNow developer who has previous skills/project experience that includes:

Platform development and configuration

• Design, develop and maintain ServiceNow solutions using best practice and platform standards.
• Configure and extend applications, forms, workflows, catalogues, portals and dashboards.
• Develop custom applications using App Engine where appropriate.
• Create and maintain Business Rules, Client Scripts, UI Policies, Flow Designer workflows and Script Includes.
• Build and maintain custom integrations with internal and external systems.

Workflow automation

• Automate IT, HR, Facilities, Procurement and business processes using ServiceNow capabilities.
• Develop approval workflows, fulfilment processes and self-service solutions.
• Identify opportunities to reduce manual effort through automation and orchestration.
• Support zero-touch and low-touch service delivery initiatives.

Integration development

• Develop and maintain integrations using REST APIs, SOAP APIs, IntegrationHub, MID Server, directory services and Microsoft cloud services.
• Troubleshoot and resolve integration issues, failures and data quality problems.
• Ensure reliable data movement and appropriate error handling across connected platforms.

Service catalogue and portal development

• Develop and enhance Service Catalogue offerings and request fulfilment workflows.
• Create user-friendly portal experiences and dynamic forms.
• Improve self-service capability, guided request capture and knowledge management links.

Platform governance and release management

• Participate in platform upgrades, testing and release activities.
• Promote solutions through Development, Test and Production environments using controlled release practices.
• Support CAB processes and change management requirements.
• Maintain documentation, technical specifications, test evidence and implementation notes.
• Ensure solutions comply with security, compliance and architectural standards.

Reporting, analytics and support

• Develop dashboards, KPIs and operational reports.
• Investigate and resolve platform incidents, defects and recurring issues.
• Perform root cause analysis and recommend corrective actions.
• Recommend new ServiceNow capabilities and prioritised enhancements.

Key skills (Snapshot):

• ServiceNow development experience, including configuration and Scripting.
• Strong JavaScript skills and understanding of ServiceNow Server Side and client-side Scripting.
• Experience with ITSM, Service Catalogue, Flow Designer, IntegrationHub, CMDB, Knowledge Management and Service Portal.
• Experience integrating ServiceNow with third-party applications using APIs and enterprise integration patterns.
• Understanding of ITIL and core IT service management processes, including incident, request, problem and change.
• Ability to document designs, test cases, deployment steps and support handover materials.
