Interim IT Infrastructure & Operations Manager

South West London (Hybrid, 3 Days Onsite)£550 per day Umbrella6 Month Rolling Contract

Salt Recruitment is working with a South West London Local Authority to recruit an experienced Interim IT Infrastructure & Operations Manager to lead the delivery and support of critical IT infrastructure and operational services.

This is a hands on leadership role requiring an experienced manager who can oversee technical teams, maintain service stability and drive continuous improvement across infrastructure, cloud and end user services.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a multidisciplinary IT Operations team covering infrastructure, networks, end user computing and telephony services.
• Ensure the availability, performance and security of critical IT services.
• Manage and support cloud platforms including AWS and Azure.
• Oversee infrastructure technologies including Windows 11, firewalls, DNS, networking and Microsoft Teams telephony.
• Drive service improvements and implement operational best practice.
• Monitor service performance and ensure effective incident and problem management.
• Work closely with senior stakeholders across the organisation to support business objectives.
• Manage third party suppliers and service providers.
• Ensure compliance with security, governance and operational standards.

Essential Experience

• Proven experience managing IT Infrastructure and Operations teams.
• Strong technical background across cloud, networking and end user computing.
• Experience supporting Azure and AWS environments.
• Knowledge of Windows 11, Microsoft 365, Teams Telephony, DNS and firewall technologies.
• Experience managing service delivery within complex environments.
• Strong stakeholder management and leadership skills.
• Ability to work in a fast paced operational environment.

Desirable Experience

• Local Government experience.
• Public Sector experience.
• ITIL certification or equivalent service management experience.

Contract Details

• £550 per day Umbrella
• 6 Month Rolling Contract
• South West London
• 3 Days Per Week Onsite (Mandatory)
• Immediate Start Available
