Key Responsibilities

• Gather, analyse, and interpret large volumes of structured and unstructured data.
• Develop dashboards, reports, and visualisations to support operational and strategic decision-making.
• Identify trends, anomalies, and opportunities through exploratory data analysis.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand reporting and analytical requirements.
• Produce clear documentation, including data definitions, analytical methodologies, and business recommendations.
• Support data quality initiatives by identifying inconsistencies and recommending improvements.
• Write efficient SQL queries to extract, cleanse, and transform data from multiple sources.
• Perform data validation and reconciliation activities to ensure accuracy and integrity.
• Present analytical findings to senior stakeholders and programme teams.
• Work closely with Data Engineers, Business Analysts, Product Managers, and Delivery Managers within Agile delivery teams.
• Ensure compliance with HMRC security, governance, and data protection standards.

Essential Skills & Experience

• Active SC (Security Check) clearance.
• Proven experience working as a Data Analyst within UK Government or large public sector organisations.
• Strong SQL skills for querying and analysing relational databases.
• Experience with Microsoft Power BI for dashboard development and reporting.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including PivotTables, Power Query, and complex formulas.
• Experience analysing large, complex datasets.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
• Ability to translate business requirements into analytical solutions.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience working in Agile delivery environments.
• Strong documentation and reporting skills.
