Senior Design Insight Analyst (Contract)

Contract: 6 MonthsRate: Up to £600 per day (Max)Location: Ideally Bristol, but open to Manchester, Leeds, or Cardiff

Overview

We’re looking for an experienced Insight Analyst to join a Customer Analytics team embedded within a digital product environment. This is a backfill position supporting key mobile app propositions, specifically within the Savings and Upcoming Payments customer journeys.

This role is focused on understanding customer behaviour within a mobile banking app, identifying how customers engage with products and features, and translating those insights into recommendations that shape product and design decisions.

The ideal candidate will be a strong communicator who can combine technical analysis with compelling storytelling, helping stakeholders understand not just what is happening, but why it is happening and what actions should be taken as a result.

Responsibilities

• Analyse customer behaviour across digital channels and mobile app journeys.
• Support optimisation of Savings and Upcoming Payments propositions.
• Use behavioural analytics to identify customer needs, opportunities and areas for improvement.
• Deliver actionable insights that influence product, design and business decisions.
• Partner with cross-functional stakeholders including Product, Design and Analytics teams.
• Present findings and recommendations in a clear, engaging and commercially relevant way.
• Drive evidence-based decision making through robust analysis and insight generation.

Essential Skills & Experience

• Excellent SQL skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
• Proven experience translating data into compelling stories and business recommendations.
• Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills.
• Experience working in customer, digital or product analytics environments.
• Ability to balance technical analysis with business-focused communication.

Desirable Skills & Experience

• Experience with data visualisation tools, ideally Tableau, though Power BI or similar tools are also welcomed.
• Experience working with cloud-based analytics environments. Exposure to GCP would be beneficial but is not essential.
• Python experience.
• Knowledge of statistical techniques and predictive modelling.

Ideal Candidate

• A true data storyteller rather than someone focused solely on reporting and dashboard creation.
• Comfortable working directly with stakeholders and influencing decisions through insight.
• Experienced in analysing customer behaviour and digital product adoption.
• Naturally curious about customer engagement and what drives usage of digital propositions.
• Able to convert complex data into straightforward recommendations for non-technical audiences.
• Experience in greenfield, start-up or scale-up environments would be highly attractive due to the proactive and exploratory nature of the role.
